Well good for you. You don't mind being harassed. I love animals. However there are other organizations designed to help animals other than the ASPCA and they don't harass the people who donate. Also I just wonder how much of they money they receive goes to help the animals. They spend A LOT of money on television ads, contracts with a donation service to call people and not mention all the crap they mail EVERY DAY.
Have gotten a couple of calls a day for a few weeks. The calls are to my cell, if I don't know the number I don't answer. Not gonna pay for a call from someone I don't know. They have never left a message.
I answered, and it was "Donor Services," with whom the ASPCA contracts to manage donations. They were calling to renew my monthly donations to ASPCA that had stopped when my old debit card expired. No troubles from the representative, very polite and nice. Yes, it really IS the ASPCA.
We have gotten many calls from this number out of Los Angeles. As mentioned when I pick up the line is quiet. I usually hang on these computer calls. I just returned the call and it is Donor Services from the ASPCA I guess looking for donations.
I've been getting calls from this number also. Same deal, hang-ups. It is indeed ASPCA Donor Services. I made ONE purchase from the ASPCA. I had intended to make more purchases but definitely will look elsewhere.
I'm telling EVERYONE I know NOT to DONATE to the ASPCA and NOT to make a PURCHASE from the ASPCA.
Don't know what braintrust thought it would be a good idea to harrass customers but I'm not happy about it. This is NOT the way to garner donations, SPCA!
I spoke to a pleasant representative named Ted when I called that number. He said he would take my number off of the donor list. He said the reason for the hang-ups is that Donor Services likes to speak to a person instead of leaving a message. My guess is their poor reps will not be happy when people do answer the phone and tell them to QUIT CALLING!!!!
I have been getting these calls but don't answer them. I use to donate regularly to the ASPCA and have bought merchandise. I guess they want to know why I stopped. While it is annoying, that is no reason to not donate. It certainly isn't the poor homeless animals fault. If you have donated in the past, you obviously care about them. Please don't let annoying calls stop your generosity towards homeless and abused animals.
