Another solar energy scammer. Did not pick up since it was coming from the 323 area code, which has become infamous for scam calls (especially the "reduce your energy costs" ones) and it was coming into my DNCL registered phone. They did leave a message and it was the all too familiar female voice telling me that "due to a recent Government program" I can reduce my energy costs. (I have looked up the program being referred to and having been passed several years ago is hardly "recent".) She again mentions a dire warning about a 14% increase in electric rates coming soon (and it has been supposedly coming soon for well over a year.) You just have to be a homeowner spending over $150 a month on electricity willing to press "1" to see if you qualify. (This has changed a little over time; they used to list $75 a month as the low point, but I guess that people paying less than $150 per month are not as desperate as folks over $150 to reduce their electric bills and fall for their scam.) Deleted their message and blocked the number so I will not hear from them until they change their number (so maybe two weeks, tops.)
I kind of liked it when they would have a live person on the line. They would ask how much I spent on electricity each month and I would respond "Nothing, the electric company pays me." Then I would hear "So, you already have solar?" And then I would tell them "I used to, but I replaced it with a Zero Point generator that gives me 5000 kilowatts of power 24/7. Anything I do not use goes out on the grid and the power company sends me a hefty check each year." Usually I would get "Thank you for your time" before they hung up. Once I was asked what a Zero Point generator was and I chastised the lady for trying to save people money on electricity while not knowing about them and told her to ask her boss. (Apparently there are no Sci-Fi fans among the scammer ranks.)
