Some guy from this phone number (Caller ID: Name Unknown) called our company this afternoon looking for the boss. I told him the boss doesn't work in the office, he works on the road, and asked if I could help him. The caller mumbled something about calling again later in the day. Apparently, he doesn't understand what "does not work in the office" means. I started to repeat the fact that he would not be able to reach the boss because he works on the road... but the guy disconnected rather than 'waste his time' explaining anything to me. Seeing the caller was clear across the country in California, there's no doubt it's some kind of sales call for some product or service we don't want or need -- or it's a scam. These idiot cold-callers who think hanging up instead of talking to me is a smart strategy are sadly mistaken because, if it's something new, the boss would only refer the call to me anyway. The caller hung up on me as if I was something beneath his notice. The joke's on him for assuming I'm 'just a secretary' when I'm actually the company's other corporate officer. Even if he's legitimate, he has ZERO chance of getting any business from us now.
