If there is an open investigation on the person who is out of contact, I assume you gave this number to the police? They usually have ways to get more info on a number than you might get in a pubic forum like 800notes or by paying for info to services such as intelius and the like. Those services generally do not have useful data in my experience, and the costs are insulting.
