When I called the # I heard a recorded message that started out with
This is an automated message from Bank of America Security Department. We regret to inform you that due to suspicious activity on your account your debit card has been temporary locked. In order to unlock we need to verify your identity by entering some of your information on file. Please enter your 16 digit account number as it appears on your visa debit card.
I entered in a fake number and it then said:
Please enter your 3 digits card verification code as it appears on the back of your card.
I entered in a fake verification code and it then said:
Please enter your 4 digits expiration date as it follows May 2016 will be 0516,
Please enter the numbers of your billing street address no matter if it is street, post office box, court, highway, or route, we only need the numbers for verification use keys 0 through 9, do not enter letters or fractions please enter the digits now followed by the pound key.
I entered a fake address and it then said:
Now, Please enter your 5 digit zip code now associated with your Visa Debit Card.
Please enter the last 4 digits of your social security number.
Your Visa Debit Card is now fully protected, we apologize for any inconvenience good bye.
The call then disconnected. I blocked my number when I called and entered in entirely fake information and the system responded as if it were verifying a real card number. This is fraud. I have called Bank of America and reported the text and forwarded a copy of it their fraud department. DO NOT RESPOND TO THIS TEXT IF YOU GET IT. Instead contact Bank of America and your bank if you have an account with a different bank, report the text or e-mail.
