Since the phone companies and the government won't do anything to try to at least slow down these creeps here are a few ways to mess with them. Pick up the call and listen to their spiel and then say "wait a minute I'll be right back". Then put down the phone and go back to what you were doing before. It's fun to see how long you can keep them waiting. They hate it when you waste their time like they waste yours. Pretend to be interested and ask a million questions about their legitimacy and then hang up, if they don't hang up on you first. Or make up a fake voice and pretend to be someone else. I like to pretend to be a senile old man or lady who thinks they called me to give me some money. "When do I get my money." Then after they talk some more, "How much money do I get?" Lastly, go to You Tube and watch some of the clips there about messing with telemarketers. Some are hilarious. Don't get mad get even.
I received a call from this number just a moment ago. Judging by the messages from other people reporting this number, this telemarketer is identifying himself from several different organizations. So, I'm guessing this is a scammer. He hung up on me when I said no, which I said several times. I'm going to be rude from now on and say, "no" once then hang-up so they don't get a chance to hang up on me first. Like it really matters, but it'll make me feel better. Pond scum.
I also received a call from 323-405-3146. I was a victim of an identity theft once and I am very careful with numbers that I don't know. I don't answer. Even if they leave messages, don't believe everything they say. Lots of scams nowadays. Be alert.
