When I received another call, I answered it "LA Police Department, what's ur emergency?
Once I was said LA Police they hung up. I haven't received another call. I also have an unlisted number.
They identify themselves as Geek Squad, AeroTech Computer Solutions, etc., and tell you that your ISP is compromised or your computer is infected with a virus. Beware to make sure you are calling your legitimate phone provider, because I called a number for Century Link and got CONNECTED to this outfit.
Received the call. Same info as above. Received same call yesterday from A different phone number. I informed the caller that this is a scam call. I requested my number to be removed from the list. I called the number back. It is a number that is no longer in service. I receive several calls daily from a person with East Indian accent stating he is a computer tech. After I block the call and post a note a different phone number appears.
Called 8:30 this morning ... heavy heavy Indian accent - probably sitting in some cubby hole somewhere phishing for information. I played along knowing it was a scam (that accent is a dead giveaway) ...I pretended to do as he told me ... and waited for him to give me instructions. I then grabbed a large cheerleading whistle that I have, and knowing that he was on the other end, I blew ........... suffice it to say he will be out of the telephone scam business for a while !!! And that's my contribution to end these phone scams ... If we all did it, they'd all be deaf by now. Sweet revenge for a Saturday morning !
So sick of these scammers !! A holes! Random Microsoft people don't call you out of the blue for a virus on my computer . When my computer has a virus I take it locally to a shop.
