Called me twice, no message the first time so I picked up the second. They said there was a mathematical error on my taxes and I owed the IRS. Not giving them any information, I decided to see if it was real. After being transferred three times (all people with Indian accents) and the second person I talked to was getting angry with me and I got into a shouting match with the third because I told him I would get my lawyer to call their office to get it resolved... To which he repeatedly said, "Give us your lawyer's number and name, that's all." So I told him I just wanted the number to their office for my lawyer, he hung up on me. Total scam.
I just received a call from this number. He said that the government was rewarding me $7,000 for having good credit record. It sounded too good to be true, so I was thinking...this gotta be a scammer. To make the long story short, he asked me how I would wanted the money to be transferred to me whether checking, savings, credit card. When I said checking, he asked me what my checking account number. That's when I hanged up on him. IT'S A BIG SCAMMER, FOLKS! He thought I was that stupid just to fall for it and give him those kind of information.
Called me just now, a lady without accent, asking for Greg....I have a relative named Greg. Living in assisted living facility, and told her he is not old enough to live in assisted living facility only for certain age persons. Caller ID said California, an we do have relatives in California.
Windows does not make that type of phone calls, I called them about 3 years ago asking why they are calling stating what you said,. That is a SCAM a bad one to try to get your identity...
