IRS scam that got past third-party call blocking service this morning.
We got a similar call yesterday from 213-705-6806 using the same CID name (WIRELESS CALLER) and getting past the blocking service. That call left the end of it's recording as a message on our answering machine, so I decided to answer this one and listen to the beginning.
I answered after multiple rings, but said nothing for 10-15 seconds. There was only silence on the line. Finally, I said "Hello?" and the recording started playing immediately. The voice was definitely robotic/electronic (vs. live human) and meant to sound female. The message said they were the "IRS" and the "Internal Revenue Service" at different times (at least they know what the letters stand for!) It said it was the final attempt to reach me and that they were about to file a lawsuit against me. Finally, it urged me to call their department back at 323-434-2467 immediately. The tail end of the message urging me to call back sounded exactly like the message left on our answering machine from yesterday's call except for the different number.
I reported the call to the blocking service we use, the FCC, and the FTC.

Same CID number and name called back several hours later. The blocking service intercepted that second call after the first ring, but I don't know if that's because they're blocking all this number's calls now or if my earlier report automatically added it to some kind of personal blacklist for my account.
