I received a text from 516-265-7618 that says my auto loan has been approved for "up to $17k" w/ $0 down & a web address. The web address goes nowhere - not even to a scam - invalid domain. I called the ph# and I was the 15th caller to a radio contest at fuseradio98 out of LA in CA. Interesting, since area code 516 is in Long Island, NY. Anyway, they didn't ask for any personal or financial info, so I thought it was legit. I was so excited and went online to claim my cruise. What they don't tell you is that it's a time-share advertising cruise (I did an internet search on the radio station and on the actual cruise). AND you have to pay the NON-REFUNDABLE TSA port fees of $59 x2 people upfront - $119. PLUS you will be charged $12 per day x 2 people x 3 days if oil is going for over $40 a barrel the week you actually sail - that's another $72. So, for $192 plus round-trip airfare to Florida you get to be followed all around the boat and be hounded to buy a time-share. I think they make most of their money from people paying the $119 upfront, then finding out they cannot afford the airfare to & from Florida OR when they look into it and see that it's a time-share advertising cruise and decide to cut their losses. Remember - fuseradio98 has your TSA port fees, but nothing is owed to the TSA until you sail. So they pocket the upfront port fees for every 'sucker' that took the bait. I almost paid. I even had my card out of my wallet when I got cold feet.
