Just received a message on my answering machine stating the IRS was filing a law "suite" not suit against me and I should call their office. It sounded like an automated message
I received a phone call from this number. I called back and they were trying to verify information when I tried to ask for more information they hung up when I called back no one talks after answering.
Are you asking what a lawsuit is or what this call is? A lawsuit is a claim or dispute brought to a court of law for adjudication. This call, on the other hand, is a scam. The IRS doesn't call, they send mail, and they don't threaten to sue.
