I am on the do not call list 5 different times how do we get all this harassment to stop I am disabled and cannot get to the phone all the time when it rings and then get these jerks who have nothing better to do with their time to keep harassing me. They call at all hours of the day and evenings and on weekends.
Many of them are calling from outside the US, out of reach of US law enforcement. They cannot be stopped.
Invest in a cordless phone. Not a cell phone, a cordless land line phone. The base station plugs in th the phone lines where your land line plugs in now. It also has to plug into an electric line. You carry the hand set in your pocket during the day, put it in the base station at night to charge. That will eliminate all that running to the phone. A cordless landline phone will not increase your phone bill.
Do not throw away your current land line phone. A cordless phone won't work during a power failure.
Another advantage to a cordless phone is that you can call a neighbor or 911 from anywhere in your house or yard. It lets you call for help if you fall or if you accidentally lock yourself out of the house.
