Called my houe early this morning. Asked to speak to my husband. When I asked who was calling, he wanted to know when he could speak to my husband. When I pressed him further, he mentioned something about saving energy... Hung up and will block number!!!!
Blocked this number a couple days ago. Checked my block log - I have been called 10 times in the last couple days by this number. None of the calls come through. What i think is happening is the worker has to call numbers to satisfy a manager and calls numbers he/she knows are "safe" so that he/she can appear busy and get a paycheck, but avoid confrontations by having to talk to irritated people who actually pick up the phone. I think it is why they hang up early also. They're just trying to earn a paycheck while minimizing conflict. This doesn't condone what they're doing, but I have known people who have taken these telemarketing jobs in times of severe financial hardship to make ends meet until they can find something better. I imagine the turnover rates are pretty high.
