Since These Phone #'s Are Owned & Issued By A Phone Company, Wouldn't It Be Easy To Simply Have These Phone Companies Take Away The #'s From The Abusers, We Use To Be Able To Do That Years Ago By Calling AT&T, Pac Bell Or Whom Ever Issued The # ????
Just got my third call from this number this week. It comes up as a California call. I don't answer because I don't know anyone from CA & from what I've read about the number it's just a scam anyhow. But, they only let the phone ring a few times & then hang up, never leaving a voicemail.
Incoming call to my cell (which is on the Do Not Call Registry). I picked up, said hello, and heard a man with a thick accent say, "Hello? Hello?" with some background noise. When I again said, "Hello?" he started speaking quickly: "Yes, hello... this is Edward Garcia and I am calling on behalf of Highland Resorts...". I hung up and blocked the number with my service provider.
Called yesterday. After the introduction, I asked where they received my information. I was told Mall. Who is Mall? I told the lady I was on the DNCR and that this was an illegal call. I asked to speak to a manager, but of course, they were busy. I said I would gladly wait on the line, but she continued to dance around the question. Near the beginning of the call, she said all the info she had was my telephone number. After I told her I would report the company to the government, she suddenly had my name wrong and misdialed my phone number. I called her out on her lie, but she continued to say it was the wrong number. I'm sure it's a scam.
