This person identified themselves as being from "The Chief Financial Council" and they had a foreign accent. When I said that I had never heard of such a thing they hung up. But they have calmed me numerous times.
Just got one of these calls today. I have been just ignoring calls I don't recognize, but they're very persistent, so now I've started putting my phone on speaker and turning up TV volume so they can hear that the call was answered, but I don't speak. They hang up after about 10 seconds. Since it's a waste of their time and they don't get paid unless I bite for whatever they're selling, I'm hoping this ploy will work. I've been doing this with various numbers for about a week, and I'm not sure, but I think it's helping.
This number called me and talked about a grant! Then asked me to wire him money to his personal account in New Delhi. I hung up on him and blocked his call. Nothing from him in a while. Maybe Interpol or something prosecuted them already.
