Don't pick up the phone when you see the number. If you do and then you even listen to what they have to say, they'll continue calling back every week. They actually get rewarded for speaking to a person, even if it's for 30 seconds. Being polite ends up biting you in the [***].
Got another call 10:15 PST today. Some company wanting to know if I needed any work done and telling me about some sort of cash-back benefit I would get if I had the work done. They knew when my house was built. My suspicion is that they were going to send someone over to give an estimate and request some kind of down-payment. They kept droning on and on and finally when I said "no"for about the 5th time they hung up.
Be on the lookout! Better safe than sorry. I think the name of the company was Housing Solutions, or something like that. Didn't get it down.
Got a call again at this number at 3:14 PM PST 11/19/2013 This time this lady said she was from something called America's Gone Green. They apparently install solar panels. She droned on and on about cutting down my power bill by 60% . Then she asked me when was a good time TODAY to come out and give me free information. I told her I wasn't interested and she kept telling me that she wanted to send someone out with free information. She got pushy. I finally told her for the last time I wasn't interested. There' s something up here but I don't know what it is.
