Got a call from this number jiust now, did not answer as I didn't recognize the number. No message was left. If it was some one that I knew they would have left a message.
I have had this since 1980 with either Pacific Bell or AT & T, and I rarely had a telemarketer call me.
I ported/switched the number (about 1year ago) to Verizon, on or about 3/1/13 & immediately started receiving a barrage of unwanted calls.
Here are the calls that I have received since switching my number to Verizon starting 3/13/13.
HANG-UPS
232 calls from (different numbers each time) that were hang-ups. The calling party hung up as soon as I said hello, by either just hanging up or a recorded voice said "Good Bye".
TELEMARKETERS
168 calls from telemarketers (different numbers each time) that I actually spoke to or were broadcasting a recorded message. The telemarketers that I spoke to ALWAYS knew my name. There were local contractors, computer scams from India, local carpet cleaners, & pharmacies from India.
BLOCKED CALLS
After receiving a call I blocked the number, there were 336 blocked calls from either the TELEMARKETERS or HANG-UP numbers.
Total to date I have received 736 calls from 400 different numbers.
