This is HP Locate, a private investigations company known to harass people. They are relentless and call from different phone numbers located in different states. I've gotten calls from 1-305-735-0376 (a number out of Miami Florida) and 1-888-331-1438 which is supposedly in Texas and now this number out of California. They leave call back numbers of 1-888-331-1438 an 1-888-331-1437. I just started getting these calls and assume from the tone and "urgency" of the messages that they are trying to collect a debt from someone. Researching the phone numbers seems to indicate they are debt collectors or skip tracers.
Got a message on my answering machine from this number today. It sounded like a computer. Said my number was linked to one of their investigations and I needed to call them back. I've owned this number for about 15 years and I am not late on any bills and I pay off my one credit card every month if there is even a balance. Good luck with me calling you back!! Probably a scam.
