Caller posing as irs threatening arrest and warrants for back taxes. The IRS has a toll free 800 number. These people are trying to scare people into paying money. If you owe back taxes you receive a letter from the it's, etc etc.
Called me 4 times and left an automated message threatening me about going a legal action. I called them back and they claimed to be working for the IRS. I laughed and let him go on about the so called legal file against me. He told me I owed a lot of money and I was going to jail if I did not pay soon. He also claimed I had a warrant for my arrest and the police will be at my doorstep. So I asked him where are my letters then? I also told him I dealt with the IRS before and they don't call or use calls when dealing with them. I asked about my court date and he said this Monday. Hahaha was funny messing with him but seriously I was pissed off for the threat. Anyways its just bull so I hope no one gives in and pays any money to these crooks. Was an Indain man I presume with very heavy thick accent.
Caller indicating IRS saying I owed BAD Taxes from 2010-2015 audit. Must be paid immediately before the end of the day or my accounts will be frozen. My drivers licenses suspended for 5 years. A warrant would be issued for my immediate arrest by the police in my current location. Wanted me to purchase iTunes cards to pay the tax $500 cards 4 at a time at CVS, Meijer, and/or Kroger to cover the cost. Said if I didn't pay today I would have to go to court with fine of $35,000. I fell for it. Then the caller wanted to repeat the process. Said someone would come to the door with a cashiers check to reimbursement for the iTunes cards already submitted the following morning. I realized at this point it was a scam. Indian speaking man from India dialect. Put me on hold with his associate and said he was calling down to the court to see if they could stop the lawsuit the IRS was filing against me. Got very angry and said the police would be at more door immediately to pick me up. I looked up the number on line and found this website. I usually do this first, but did not do it today. When I went to iTunes of course all the cards had been redeemed and I learned a really big lesson at a major cost. I called a couple of friends and they said they received the same type of call.
