They want to scam you. If you call back and refuse to give your name the man calls you "piece of [***]" repeatedly but if you just call and put the phone down he gets REALLY pissed.
Smells like a scam... IRS doesn't contact people in this manner.

I'm officer nicky Johnson from internal revenue service and the hotline to my division as 323-729-3068 I repeat. It's 323-729-3068 don't disregard this message and do return the call before we take any action against you. Goodbye and take care.
Basically the same call kt received except it was a womans voice claiming to be from the IRS threatening to take action unless I called this number back immediately. Also said goodbye and take care. I KNOW that the IRS doesn't contact people by phone, only by mail. An obvious scam.
I got the exact same automated call, word for word, as KT did. Except I thought her name was Mitsy Johnson, not Nicky. haha. Exact same number as well. It's a scam.
Got same message. Called back, Jack Marshall answered. I let him give his little sales pitch. Told him okay here's my lawyer number, then he hung up on me. The minute I heard his broken English I knew it was a scam. IRS does not call you on a Saturday. Especially with people that can barely speak English.
