Yes, I have been getting calls from this no. as well few times a week at my hospital that my identity has been stolen, I have not paid my taxes and that there is police wanting to arrest me.  They are very rude and despite my telling them that they were pranksters and do not scare me, continue to call me.  Do not worry or attend their calls if possible.

Extortion Scam Related to Delinquent Payday Loans

Washington, D.C.
December 07, 2010  FBI National Press Office
(202) 324-3691

The Internet Crime Complaint Center has received many complaints from victims of payday loan telephone collection scams. Callers claim the victim is delinquent in a payday loan and must repay the loan to avoid legal consequences. The callers purport to be representatives of the FBI, Federal Legislative Department, various law firms, or other legitimate-sounding agencies. They claim to be collecting debts for companies such as United Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Net, and other Internet check-cashing services.

According to complaints received from the public, the callers have accurate data about victims, including Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, employer information, bank account numbers, and the names and telephone numbers of relatives and friends. How the fraudsters obtained the personal information varies, but in some cases victims have reported they completed online applications for other loans or credit cards before the calls started.

The fraudsters relentlessly call the victim’s home, cell phone, and place of employment. They refuse to provide any details about the alleged payday loans and become abusive when questioned. The callers have threatened victims with legal actions, arrests, and, in some cases, physical violence if they do not pay. In many cases, the callers harass victims’ relatives, friends, and employers.

I get call all the time at my home & my cell phones. Some of the messages are, "calling from crime prevention department", "you will be arrested if you do not call us back", "this is officer (an irish name with Vietnamese/Philipino accent) calling". "this is internal revenue service calling...you have tax due etc", "please call us back to my attention...my name is officer (an irish or German name with philipino accent ) call me immediately at this number 202..." .
These caller(s) have typical of Philippino or Chinese or Vietnamese accent. The reasons for my assumption is, many of the US companies' customer service centers & tech support centers are located in philipine. I know at least of Verizon and of Sony and some US mortgage servicers have overseas support centers. Usually  'customer service' reps have more access to our data than the tech support reps. I believe, US companies' data is being accessed or hacked into unscrupulously. Then, they create US telephone numbers on-line using area code 202, 323 etc so that incoming call to my home or cell looks more legitimate. I called the numbers couple of times and they were trying to legitimize my personal info. In several occasion, I told the caller that I would rather have FBI on the line and asked them to hold so that I can connect to local office of FBI, call promptly being dropped.
I believe, FBI should look into these calls for potential identity theft..
