Among young adult households with incomes below $50,000 (two-thirds of young households), nearly one in five with credit card debt is in debt hardship-spending over 40 percent of their income servicing debt, including mortgages and student loans. This fact illustrate what we all know. Consumer debt is a BIG problem and it is growing. Thankfully there are many institutions and organizations driven by a mission to relieve consumers of their debt.
