Called me at 2:32 AM at Candiac, Qc Canada. It awaked me, my wife but not my childs. We think to an emergency call but no anwers. We are going to call Bell tomorrow to block this number. Good night
Called our home at 2:48 am and left recorded message along the lines of "serious matter...collection agency...hang up or you're acknowledging that this is *spouse's name* and your will be pursued..." After spending 30 minutes of time looking for a truly free look up of the number to determine who called, I am concluding that the scam is connected to the look-up service that charges a fee to reveal the identity of the caller. Will contact Pacific Bell directly. This is harassment and clearly illegal.
Call came in to my office (on my direct line). The caller in a heavily middle-eastern accented voice identified himself as being "Anthony from Cisco Systems". My company is a major Cisco business partner, so this would not be entirely unusual, but "Anthony" was asking me for the number of our conference bridge system for "the meeting". There was no meeting on my schedule - so I got suspicious and kept asking him what the meeting was about. He kept asking me for the number to our conference bridge . . . I kept asking him for what meeting and what it was about. After about a minute of this he hung up.
