Just received same type of message from this number wanting to purchase item with cashiers check. Was told by scamers beware that this is a scam. Check will clear bank and then when they discover its fraudulent the bank comes after you for the money. Huge scam.

I just got texts from Mallon too. Wanted to pay us $50 more than our asking price on CL if we would take our item off. Wanted to pay with cashiers check. Suspecting a scam I gave then a po box but they wanted a physical address. I said thanks but no thanks. Is there a way to report them?
This is 100% a scam!!! He sent my little brother a check from a Lutheran church in OK to cash for the purchase of a playstation. he then asked a 13 year old to western union him the remaining money & someone will pick up his play station.
