I received call 3/10/10 from a person who calls himself Charlie Brown, saying grant money was being automatically into my bank from the US Grants Dept., BEWARE THIS IS A SCAMMMMMM. I called the US Gov. Grants Dept. and they verified this was not the way the Gov. does business.
Calling me telling me I have a government grant of 5000 USD. This is fraud and they wanted my bank routing number as well as account number...Address given is that of the Human and Health Department Services but they claimed it was their own. Do not trust this number
I received a call from Alex Parker (sounded Indian) advising I have a gov. grant for $5000 from the Human & Health Services and wanted my banking information which I refused. He called from 818-594-4104, however told me to contact 323-843-2826 and provide them with a passcode number which was given to me. I called, and they requested the same information which I again refused. I asked them to send me an email as confirmation and they also refused. I contacted the Goverment Grant Hotline and they confirmed this is a fraudulent call. Gov.Grants do not make outbound calls, nor contact you via phone to advise you of any grants. All information should be provided in writing from the government. Do not trust these caller, and Do Not give your banking information.
WOW i JUST received a call from"Alex Parker" and Indian man from the get go i could tell something was fishy. I stayed long enough to get the address he provided and phone number witch was of course the above. I called the US dept of health and human services right afterwords and they told me no government agency will never give you a call and tell you you received a government grant. This is complete fraud.
