Received a call when I was not home. They did not leave a message. I called the number back later and it was a recorded message... " Hi. Thank you for calling back. This is Eric Thorton calling on behalf of the Paternal Order of Police... " . I hung up at this point so I don't know what he wanted, but I would guess it's money.
My caller id showed "out of the area" with no company or organization name. It seems like these kind of calls has increased in spite of the Do Not Call list.
This number calls a few times a day they just call and hand up. I don't know anyone in the LA area no body. I'm one that doesn't pickup up the phone if someone just has unknown and a number. On that note if no one can leave a message.
I picked up and said "hello", but after two seconds without anyone responding, I hung up. This delay in answering is typical of robo-calling equipment which waits for "off hook" return supervision before switching you to either a recording or a sales pitch agent. Invariably they are unwanted telemarketing calls.
Just got a call, didn't recognize the number... Of course they didn't leave a voice mail... The number has been added to the block list on my cordless phones... I won't be hearing from them again.
I answered, waited, heard nothing, and began saying... "I don't have time for phone games" when I heard a male voice click onto the line and say hello, then he cut right back out.
