Got a call from a woman who would not give her name but claiming to be from Qwest. Her caller ID showed up as Private Caller and I asked about that and she said she did not know the number from which she was calling because they used a dialer (sic) but could only give an 800 number. I looked up the number as coming from Pacific Bell and challenged her to identify who she was. She was quite forceful and would not let me speak and I asked he to stop talking - she kept going on and I finally just hung up on her. Figure this person has nothing to do with Qwest and is just somebody trying to sell some business services. I upgraded my personal number to a business line last month and since then I get several telemarketers calling every day. I have some fancy call blocking software though and am not bothered but this one got through - once. Hope this helps someone else. By the way , Qwest people have ALWAYS been courteous, helpful and identified themselves - so this one was a phony. I shall also reposrt this caller to Qwest.
I received a call from the same number from a gentleman who claimed to work for verizon. I did a reverse phone look up. The number is an unpublished Los Angeles, CA number. We too had recently changed our residential number to a business number. Now all the scammers are calling. What is the name of the filtering software you are untilizing to LOCK THEM OUT?
