This is a new one. The person that answers after the Robo call Claims to be from Time Warner. The Number displayed as "Time Warner" , I informed the African American person that I was on the Do not call list he Hung up. The next day i called and the number was disconnected.
The people calling from this using Phishing Techniques Stating they are from your credit card company or your (or another) cable company to offer you a product and during the course of the conversation will ask for credit card or other personal information .
I have contacted local Police, County Sheriff, and the various Police Departments in this case 1-877-275-5273 of the originating prefix. If you have Voice over IP make sure you talk to the Police Officer that handles Internet Crimes (because it is a internet crime) if the Officer is not interested, Send a email with a copy of this notice. Give notice that a attempt of criminal action was committed. CC the Mayor and any city Counsel member that you can get a email address.
In this Instance they are not interested.
Make sure you call and email them, if we bother them enough, they may do something, it's not like we vote for Sheriff's, Mayor's, Councilmen, State reps and Senators, etc.
I have filed a Complaint with the Illinois Attorney General's Office. (312 814 3000) They are the most interested. The FTC will only let you file a complaint they do not talk much. https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov make sure you file. In the comments Cut and Paste this.
We the people who check these things on the Internet are the ones who need to be responsible to watch and report. I shudder to think of these people preying on my elder parents.
