Called last night and launched right into their programmed solicitation pitch. This is one of those 'Police Charity' solicitation companies. Most of the money goes to the solicitation company and a small fraction goes to a possibly worthwhile cause. They cannot provide any detailed information on the charity, and will only send you a 'receipt' for a 'charitable' commitment. Representing a 'non-profit' they are exempt from DNC list. However, the company hired to do the solicitation is most definitely a 'for-profit' operation. Do not fall for this dishonest pitch. It is a shame that some law enforcement organizations choose to take a few easy bucks by letting these shady and misleading operations represent them. They do get a small amount of the funds, but they loose so much in public credibility and sympathy.
800 Notes: Please give us an option on the pull-down list for 'Solicitor'. This company is not a 'Telemarketer' as they are not selling anything, neither are they a 'Non-profit Organization', they are a for profit solicitor working primarily for their own gain with a small fraction to some non-profit that you cannot get any real information about. I left the call type as 'Unknown' because it does not fit anything on the list.
