Got text from this person requesting if I can make a cake or cupcakes for their son's wedding (I am a cake decorator) and if I did received credit card payments not via paypal (I thought that was very suspicious because who asks that question). In responded that I did make cakes and cupcakes for weddings and I requested their email address to send info. They sent their email address right away and proceeded to ask when I would send info to them because needed the cost so that I can get paid right away. Yea right. Things smelled really fishy so I decided to check for their number using this system. Nothing has been reported yet so I will be the first. What made me suspicious as well was that the grammar was horrific. So not sure what country they are actually in.
I received the same text message. When asked where they heard of us it was a generic a "friend" told me about you and I found your info on Facebook. We are based out of Vegas...I could see if the texts mentioned by previous people in this post were for their son's wedding in Vegas that maybe MAYBE there was a chance it was legit and they were shopping around. If not I wonder how many sons they have...getting married at the same time...all in different cities!
I got the same message back in May. I was not able to take credit cards back then, but now that I can, I texted her back and seemed fishy that she still needed a cake afte all this time....strange that she wants the same thing each time....not sure how this is even a scam...but it's too fishy. I am based in Vegas too. Maybe she's just another cake decorator in town trying to find out what we all charge LOL.
