Stupid [***] on the other end threatened to garnish my wages over my wife of a years student loans that she claims have not been paid. States that their firm was hired by the DOE to handle these sorts of cases due to the high volume of them and the little man power that the DOE has. First off, they somehow have all of my wife's personal information and the lady on the phone said that it was given to them by the DOE. Second, they are calling my personal number, my wife's personal number and my newly created Google Voice, business number. I called them back to ask if they would please remove me from their call list. The second statement that the lady made was, "I need to inform you that this is not a scam or fraudulent..." even though that i never made a comment about being so. She then began to threaten me by saying that my wages could be garnished for these loans, even though I am not even listed as a secondary payer on them, just a contact. She then said she is going to file it as a failure to pay and that it is the law, blah blah blah... I kindly asked to take a look at the laws again and then she hung up on me.
