Received a call from this number. Before verifying who I was she called the last four digits of a social security number and also a name and insisted that she spoke with me on Wednesday with this call being on Thursday. She stated that it was I that phoned them on Wednesday. The call ended after assuring her that the info was incorrect and that we did not talk at anytime.
I recieved this call on my cell but did not answer since I didn't recognize it. I then called back on my office line. The phone was answered by a lady that said hello. She almost sounded like a teenage kid. I asked who this was and she said Jennifer. I then told her I had received two calls from this number and wanted to know what it was about. She asked when the calls came in and I told her. She asked me for my cell number so she could check it out. I told her I wasn't giving out any number until I knew what this was about. I asked if they were a company and she said yes. After prying some more she finally said the name was ACT. I asked what they did at this company and she said various things. Not too vague!
I had looked the number up on Google and saw where it said ACT was a student loan collection. I asked if that was correct and she said they do lots of things there and wouldn't commit to what they were. Since I am over 60 and don't have any outstanding school loans, I told her if she couldn't give me a more precise description of what this company was I would just block their number so they couldn't reach me. She said Ok! Again it was like talking to a young teenager the way she talked. Crazy call!!!
