Same thing with me..I was trying to sell a mattress on Craigslist and he was pushing the PayPal, which made me unsure if it was serious so I looked the number up and read other comments about this person doing the same thing. It's a shame when people do it! But I wouldn't give this number any personal information.

Same thing just happened to me, and I replied to the email. I have not been asked for paypal yet. Earlier today I received 2 texts saying they would buy my items but I needed to provide the with my paypal account. SCAM. The email he used this time is [email protected]. I have notified my local police on this matter.

Got a text from this number asking about my item on C/L in Charlotte, NC.  ( number back traces to Ohio).  Story goes,  it is for his boss that is not computer savvy.  To send email to fredsmith882@hot mail.com.  I replied to text and sent email both about item.  No personal info given.  Always BEWARE of people you don't know yet.

Scammer texted still for sale? if yes kindly email me back at my email {[email protected]) because we are not allow to use cell phone at the military base. Thx

Received a text today addressing me as Sir or Madam. No one talks like that!! That was my first clue. Then he asked me where I was located, but that was clearly in my ad, so obviously he is not from around here. Then several questions came, all were numbered.  Who does that?? Yet another clue. Then I googled the number and saw all these posts. I just wrote back and said I would not do business with anyone who is not local and willing to do a face to face cash transaction. I also told him I am reporting him now as a scammer.
