someone called my 86 year old father in Spanish claiming to be his nephew from Nicaragua and that he was coming into NY the following day and needed a ride from the airport and a place to stay. He called the next day stating he was being detained at the airport in Mexico and needed $850 because he put $13,000 in his suitcase and customs caught him because he didn't declare it. If my father sent him $850 he would give him double when he got to NY. Thank goodness my father does not have this money as he is on a fixed income. The following day he called again and now it was $500. He called the day after and it is now $350. I am here and hoping to get another call today so I can give this [***] a piece of my mind!!!
He did not ask for address that I'm aware of. He just asked for a ride, a place to stay. Then it was followed up with a request for money. I can't get the full story; my father didn't realize he was scammed until I showed him additional information
