Called us last night saying he was in sonora and would b here in the morning so today he called sayinghe was in tj. First when in donors u don't come out through tj. He's gnats call back in a few hrs. Forsue asking for money SCAM
This number called saying they were my nephew from Mexico. I kept asking name, took awhile to say he was Jesus, then asked name of parents, said Miguel and Maria. Sounds fishy to me! They hung up. I tried to call back and it was busy or not a good number.
Called said was an uncle from Mexico. Didn't say name, until we said a stupid name and he said yes that's me. Dumb on his part because we have no family member named like that. We went along with it for a while his story was fishy kept saying he was visiting us. Later we told him off & he hung up
Yup called out house number and said it was family from Mexico but my mom didn't recognize the voice so she just ignored them and hung up. Told her if they call again to just ignore them and hang up. Hope I do t answer when they call or they will hear it from me.
The caller from this number thought I was his aunt. I asked who I was speaking with and he didn't tell me his name. He just said "it's a miracle you answered the phone aunt." He then went on to try to ask me how things were. I just hung up. We've had calls like this before and they originated in Mexico and they were scam money calls. I hope they don't call back. The person must be calling from a cell phone or a cordless phone because I heard an echo on the line.
Note: This is a scam often directed to Spanish speaking households. Received an overly friendly call from a man who claimed to be my eldest nephew. He would not give me his name when asking him to tell me who he was. He claimed to be in a nearby town and just checking in because he was going to stop my and visit me on his way back to Mexico. We questioned him and told him the police would be waiting for him if he came to our house. He hung up. They have called us twice since then and the effect is frustrating. Gente mayor de edad no les creen si llaman para pedirles dinero para reparar una camioneta en la frontera o cualquier otra mentira. No son sus sobrinos ni nietos!!!! Y no te van a visitar. Son criminales en necesidad de dinero. Pobre gente. Pobre Mexico.
