Received a call from a man claiming he was my nephew. Traveling from Monterrey thru Nuevo Laredo and would be traveling to Carrizo. He wanted to swing by to visit us, but he wouldn't give me his name. Just insisted he was my nephew (he kept calling me "Tia").

Our family received this very call. A scam artist will call using any tactic to learn during the conversation helpful ways to claim he's a member of your family, addressing you as "tia" or "prima." He'll try to twist your heart strings and say he's always wanted to visit or something similar. During the second phase of his scam, he'll call saying he's en route, but has been in a car accident or some other kind of disaster and desperately needs a substantial amount of money wired to his representative in Mexico. He'll use a variety of manipulation tactics, such as guilt-tripping and even intimidation. We have notified law enforcement of this call, and would suggest you do the same should you receive a call from this number.
