Beware very skilled conartists, seeking to get money out of elderly. They called my poor mother, playing to be a family member (a nephew by the name of Carlos) that he wanted to confirm her home address which he knew! She assumed it was a distant cousin of ours and asked for his mom and provided the conartist her name. So he played her especially as she proceeded to have a conversation. They called back the next day saying that on their way down to her house they had an accident with another car a BMW. And that they had not realized their car was uninsured and if she could wire $1000 through Western Union. The next day (Thanksgiving) they never made it either, they called back and stated they had another accident with a motorcyclist and that the guy ended up in the hospital and they demanded help, asked for another $4000. Sadly, she fell for it and made the deposit. The next day they called and asked for another $2000 because the guy that he supposedly hit, was dead and that the family realized that it was not his fault since their son was not suppose to drive since he suffered from seizures. At that point my mother stated she had no more funds available and the guy asked and pleaded for help because he did not want to go to jail. They asked if any of his cousins could help, so my mother put my brother on the phone. As soon as my brother started asking questions, he realized they were not even from our country, but from Mexico! Please people beware, educate your loved ones, your parents, grandparents so this does not happen to them.
This guy called saying that he was our cousin junior and that he was coming to visit and that he would be at our house in 2 hours. We started to worry because he still wasn't here so we tried to call back and it said that the number was disconnected so we called my aunt (his mom) and she said he was in canda with his wife and that he had never even left. This is a scam don't fall for it they pretend to be your family memebers.
