called pretending to be my mom's nephew. Spoke Spanish and sounded Ecuadorian. Refused to give name and hanged up when my mother kept asking. I believe they are targeting elderly individuals.
I received several phone calls. Home phone screen read "International" and a number starting with 331 672 0580. It was a hispanic male that called me "aunt" and was able to mention the name of my sister and another relatives. Every time I asked for more information he made me feel guilty by saying " you do not remember us? ReAlly ? You forgot all about us already?" He was traveling from Washington to NY and wanted to meet the following day. By the third phone call when he was unable to answer my quesitos about my real relatives correctly, he hung up. I do not know the aim of the scam though. He did not ask for money. Careful, we give more information that we think, And they use that information in subsequent phone calls. They also mumble the names so you repeat them but this time using the real one that you want to confirm. It is very unpleasant. Follow your instinct and hang up.
Didn't recognize the # on the caller ID answered anyway. A man with a Spanish accent asked for me and when I answered "speaking, who's this" he hung up. Call was made @ 8:5pm on a Tuesday. Glad I Google the # to review these notes
