This guy called my sister and told her he was a nephew. She asked if he was David and he said yes. She asked him a few questions about the rest of the family and he said they were all fine. He was just going along with what she said or asked. He said he had been sent to a hospital in Dallas and he had a blowout and hit a car. He said the other guy told him he would call the police if he didn't give him $500. "David" was saying that he had two checks that totaled $3000.00 and could give the money back as soon as he cashed them. Sounded very fishy so we said we would call him back but we didn't. He called back twice but we didn't answer.
Just got a call from this number, same ammo, called me tia Ana and pretended to be family. His accent was from a different country than mine, and I called him on it, then he hung up. He knew my address which was very creepy.
My grandmother got a call from this number yesterday claiming to be her cousin "Tito" even told her from what side of the family he was allegedly related and said he would be visiting her today around 1:30pm and would call at 10:30am to make sure she was home. Of course like clockwork at 10:35am he called saying her was en route to the Bronx from jersey. Then called back an hour later and claimed to have been in an accident at a rest stop where he allegedly hit a parked car that had a family in it and he injured the girl. The family was allegedly going to the airport and needed the money ASAP ... "Tito" claimed he had the money but in his paper paycheck(what professional still receives paper checks?) and wanted her to wire him (through western union) the money ($1,000). My grandmother(May god bless her kind soul) tried to enlist me as her western union gofer and I instantly knew it was a scam and reported it !!!!! Please be very careful and share these stories with people because innocent hard working people are being scammed out of their money.
This is a person calling telling me that is my nephew and that they heard what happened and wanted to know how I was doing, when I asked who was it they said for me to guess. It is someone with a tone that is not from my native land or american. When I kept asking who was calling me and that I would not guess who it was that I was working they said they would call me later and hung up on me.
