Hispanic man called, sounds creepy. He had a shaky voice, nervous-like, and laughed a lot. Tried to convince my mother and I that he was related to us. He had her first and last name (as listed) and hung up as soon as my mom called him out. Do not answer this phone call and report the number.
This guy called and apparently he is a cousin of ours. He asked specifically for a family member. He's wasting his time by calling us because I did figure this is a scam and thanks to all this comments I know what to do now. First of all I don't know anyone from Illinois nor a family me member by the name he goes.
I got a call at 8:35 pm on a Wednesday night, July 30, 2014 from telephone # 1-331-954-6113. The man was Hispanic with a Mexican accent. He knew my wife's name. I gave the phone to her thinking it was a mail courier she was dealing with a week before. It turned out that when my wife got the phone he called her by name (once again). When she questioned his intentions, he hung up.
I looked up the number and it showed that the area code 331is from Illinois. Next time I will look at the caller ID before picking up. Now this jerk knows my wife's name and we have an unlisted number. Be careful.
got a call from a person that said he was my cousin. He said he needed money to get passed the Mexican Duty office because he brought 18,000 dollars without reporting it 1st I even talked to a Mexican Duty officer who sounded very professional they wanted me to wire 1,980 dollars to western union and moneygram $990 each. But weird part is they new my moms name and talked like my cousin good thing we found out it was a scam just in time. # that called 331 180 755 01 wanted me to send the money to Juan Hernandez Rios with destination to Guadalajara Jalisco BE AWARED
Just received a call from this A-hole. My son got the call and he imediatlly tried to get info. I took the phone and he stated was my nephew. He new my name but that was as much he knew about me. When confronted he threatened to kidnapped someone from my family.
