The company in India fakes the caller-id. The poor unsuspecting American company that has that number gets hundreds of angry phone calls. They have little choice but to disconnect the number.
This same India spam company also used a Georgia number last week
Some a-hole called twice from this number, hung up the first time. Claimed to be verifying a business listing. When asked to please remove it from his listing he told me not to be so rude. Unbelievable.
BTW: the guy had an Indian accent and we were talking over the top of each other, so I'm suspicious that he is calling from India. He seemed poorly trained in the art of such calls. According to other sites the number comes from NC. I wonder if this guy is concealing the real number.
