a woman calling asking for the owner of they company by his first name. Said she was with Dunn & Bradstreet Credibility Corp. I asked her if she was with a division of Dun & Bradstreet and trying to sell us something. She wouldn't answer the question she just repeated the company name she was calling from. Again I asked her if she was trying to sell something. She wouldn't answer the question. We only had to join D & B to get a number to complete a form to be paid by one of our large clients. I am going to go back into their system and change our information all by 1 number in the phone number and in the email address so these people cannot telemarket to us
Dunn & Bradstreet Credibility Corp (a separate company from Dunn & Bradstreet but with a license to use the Dunn & Bradstreet name) called for my boss. He's not available (really!). Caller said there's some activity on our company's credit file which she'd like to talk about. I took her call-back number - 866-257-6104 - and then Googled this company. Didn't like what I saw. I'm pretty sure Shea just wanted to make sales pitch. I called their opt-out number - 800-333-0505 - and placed us on their do-not-call list.
so I get a business phone call from Dun & Bradstreet (or rather a flunky in Winston Salem by way of NY judging by his accent) regarding my DUNS#...... me~"Good afternoon, Thank you for calling , how may I help you?"..him~ "Yes, can I speak with the principal of the business." me~"You're speaking with him." him~ "Is this ,,,,,,,,,?" me~"I think you need to check your records better." him~ "That's what my papers say." me~ "My name is ,,,,,,, and I know what is on my accounts," him~ "Well if I had a crystal ball I would know all of this." me~ "And this conversation just ended, have a nice day." click...................................
Mary from Dunn & Bradstreet credibility corp regarding recent activity on my credit report file Also has information on my scores and ratings. Says it is very important that she speak to me.
First asked for a CFO who hasn't been here in two years. I said I'm sorry, no one here by that name. Then asked for a former CEO by name, who's also no longer here. Again, I say sorry no one here by that name. In a very condescending tone caller said "John is CEO of the company." Again, I said sorry no one here by that name. Then he asks for an officer of the company. I said, "just a moment, please" and hung up on him. If they have legitimate business, they will know exactly who to ask for. Actually, if they REALLY have legitimate business they would already know the person's direct extension and wouldn't have to call the front desk first.
