My "Land line" phone is a VOIP and after 4 rings, my fax machine answers, which will totally stop any scam or Robo callers. I only keep the "land line" for outgoing 911 or local calls..After getting new landline phones with "Call Blocking" and Caller ID , it only took 2 months to almost totally eliminate scam calls. Anyone who knows me will call my cell number. If I answer any calls on my landline, I do not talk, and then they just hang up. Some callers will ask for me by my first name, sounding like they already know me. I hang up and Google the number and then block and report it. If anyone calls and asks "Is this (your name)?" DO NOT SAY "YES". If you said "Yes" they can use that to make purchases on stolen credit or debit cards. Keep tabs on when and where you use any card. Also, I do not allow any important mail to come to my home mailbox. I've had medications and credit cards stolen from my home mailbox.( It is easy to see the outline of a credit card or medication bottle in an envelope). I use a PO box at the Post Office for any important mail. 99% of what I get at my home mailbox is junk so it is easier to sort it out.
