I just got the same exact email! Mary Willie. I did not respond. I thought it was weird she wanted to order odd things like washer wiffs, travel tin, replacement part for plug in. Same thing she wanted my info to send me a check and would pick the items up at MY location. She's in Louisiana and I'm in Texas! And she supposedly lives there but didn't even spell it correctly. *SCAM*
I just received this woman through my avon webpage and got wrapped up in a scam earlier and I wanted to make sure about her so I googled the 4-H because what would 4-H want avon for? and found this thread. I thank you so much for posting.
It just happened to me I'm an Avon rep and this Mary Willie ordered a bunch of products from me said she'd pick up the order from my house when she comes to my town for a seminar after i let her know how much the order came up to she sent a payment out in the amount of $1,310 dollars she immediately emailed and text me to let me know that there was mistake on the check and if I could please just deposit the check in my acct and when it clears just take out what I'm owed and send the rest back to her through western union. I can't believe I fell for this I was just so glad to have made such a large sale and we emailed eachother frequently so she seemed legit. Luckily my bank realized something was wrong with the check and didn't let the check clear plus I went to police but the said there was nothing they could do just count my blessings that i didn't send any money from my acct.
I received the same message for my Avon products and an order for $120.00 (which i didn't place until i verified:
My name is Mary Willie ,I am from Louisiana and will be coming to
Texas for a Modeling. We have prefer to order online but for now all
purchases in our company are done with paper payment so i would love
you to place the order for me. I would need to know the total of all
the products i requested for and also the name and address you want
the payment sent to and also a phone number i can reach you on.After
you send me this information the Manager of our company will mail you
a check for the payment,which you can cash instantly at your bank
because we need these items there in Texas before the date of the
event(19th of NOV ) and they will be picked up at your location Upon
my Arrival in Texas ...I hope to read from you soon with all details
required..
