Leaves voice mail stating "this is to notify you that you are being sued by the IRS."  This is a prank or a phishing attempt.

IRS is suing you!  Phishing attempt.

They said: "The IRS is filing a law suit against you"!  I dont think so! Knew it had to be a scam!  Dont trust outof state calls in general.

This is a scam.  The people calling from this number are criminals.  They claim to be with the IRS and threaten the person with jail time and fines if a large amount of money is not sent.  Do not be afraid -- they're liars.  The IRS would never call and threaten you; if you did owe money in back taxes, the IRS would send you a letter.
