Scammers. They're from India trying to get you to intimidate you into paying money for some alleged loan. They have you personal info (every apply for a payday loan or mortgage refinance?).
Usual MO is to harass you on your phone and your work number.
I'm searching for their US based phone service provider to file a complaint. They typically use VOIP (i.e. like Skype to take their incoming calls) so they don't have a physical US address. I'll post the contact number for the phone service provider and the complaint procedure when I'm done. This does one of two things, they either take you off their hit list or the phone number provider get so many complaints they disconnect the scammer.
Third time I've been targeted by this scam. First phone service provider contacted the scammer and told them to stop calling me. Second phone provider disconnected the scammer (wish they all would) when I provided a recorded conversation with the threats and links to the ABC News story on the scam.

As of Aug 15, phone service is via Peerless Networking. Call their NOC at 18883802721, option 2. Complain that you're getting unwanted phone calls. Calls should stop within 48 hours.
Then complain to your local law enforcement, state attorney general, and on the FCC website.
Peerless is not the bad guy, they're under contract to provide phone service. Law enforcement needs to shut down the scammer.
We have a very similar story -- Calls started about 10 days ago. Same story and pattern of harassment.
I also found Peerless and called the same number as listed above. They were very helpful and took my request to have engineers start addressing the issue and seeing what they could do legally and technically.
Privacy Nut -- did you get any resolution or response yet? Wondering how long it will take to get some relief from the constant harassment.
Just called the provider Peerless again to follow up and see if they had made any progress. Engineer I spoke with said that all they can do is take both numbers (the one calling and mine) and reach out to the caller and ASK them to put my number on their do not call list. Not very satisfying, but who knows, maybe it will help. He also encouraged me to get authorities involved, which I already have.
Has anyone else had luck with any other channels for help?
