Called number back and received message "Sorry, the number you called is not active." This is a fake phone number. Second one I have received today. My guess is that to receive the "free medical alert system" I would have to give them a credit card number or my SSN (or both). With that information they have all they need to deplete everything I own.
Call from this number Friday March 25 at 11:47 AM. Very weary of these scams. Told me all about how there's a free medical alert device waiting for me. Press 1 to claim it, press 9 to be removed from list. Blah. Pressed my fingers to my ears and got on with my life. I never ever pick up if I don't recognize the number calling. If they call twice, they go into my call blocker.
Didn't answer and put this right into my ever expanding call block list. Now keep my answering voice mail shut down to stop the blah-blah-blah day and night of robo calls.
I never answer calls from unknown numbers. That's what voice-mail is for. Same as other reports, partial Robo message for a medical alert system. Message started before v-mail picked up. Caller-ID had only numbers for the name and CLID. This number is now on my block list.
