Likely a scam. They called claiming to be IRS and that I needed to call back. IRS sends letters - they don't call. I called the line back and it rang several times and then went to a busy signal.
This number has been calling over and over today. Leaving voicemails. It's an Internet, sms enabled number. The voicemails are from a machine. I haven't tried to call back.
Received two calls today and one voicemail claiming she is an agent for IRS--I should not disregard this call as they will take action against me. REALLY???? Obviously a machine voice and they have two chances of my returning any call--slim and none and slim is out of town.
Calls coming in for last week. Started as there was an issue (with IRS) and to call and progressing from to that there was a warrant out for my arrest. Last from Laura Matthews telling me to have my attorney call. All recordings and from several numbers. The last quoted this number 347-220-8428 but showed on caller id as 517-349-0484
Caller identified herself as Officer Lauren Matthew from the IRS. Said to call this hotline number and don't disregard this message or they will take action against me.
