This number is serviced by a company called "Level 3". In order to stop the calls, call this number: 1-877-877-0648. Just follow the prompts to speak to a representative and tell them about your complaint. That's it.
These jerks call my home and my office all day. It used to be the 212 number and now it's the 347 #. the 212 says disconnected and the 347 is always busy. I called the cops, filed a report and no one wanta to help. I started tracing the call with my phone company with hopes that after a few they'll send the info to my local precinct and i'll be able to work with them to track down the caller. Does anyone know how else we can stop this?
I don't know why i'm getting the calls but i read somewhere here that they actually heard a voice. I always get hangups but do remember getting a call a week ago asking for money for an ambulance in Israel.
347-282-2423 and also 718 and 212 . We're Jewish. It means it's either a single or multiple Jewish organizations trying to raise funds by phone via a professional telemarkeing firm - possibly via Israel - and for some reason their thing doesn't work. I mean, I wish I could hear someone breathing. That way I could at least ask them to stop. But we have the hang up flavor of phone calls. It is more than annoying. The only option I can see is to pay the phone company to block those numbers. But that is outrageous, really.
I have been dealing with the same annoying phone calls for the last few days from the 347-282-2423 number. They have been calling at least 10 times a day and never say anything when I answer. I am also Jewish, so I would think the calls are either coming from a Jewish organization or an organization targeting the Jewish community. I took Leor's suggestion and called 1-877-877-0648 to make my complaint, and they even called on the other line as I was making the complaint!!! I hope this works.
I am not Jewish but the caller may think I am as I received a call a few weeks ago from a young guy asking for funds for poor Jewish families in Israel --
Anyway, thanks for the Level 3 tip - I just called and they know about the problem -- They have contacted their "tele-marketing" wholesaler/customer who bought the number..who sold it to a third party..this third party has stated that they are not making the calls.i.e. they are not going through their system..and what is happening is known as "spoofing" - i.e. some other entity has the number and their system is making repeated calls -
We are on the No Call List -- so this is a federal offense which will cost the eventual culprit $1500 per call -- so, go to the FCC website and register on the NO CALL LIST - or, if you are already on it, lodge a complaint with them about this number -
Level 3 is trying to resolve this through their customer - which may not be possible --
