Scammer put advertisement on craigslist with 2003 wildwood camper/trailer for sale for $2,499 indicating he was in the army and faced September deployment and had to sell quickly. Inquiry into purchasing the camper came with subsequent email from seller indicating his name as Thomas Erdmann. My acceptance of his terms to have transaction go through third party Propay resulted in a phishing-type return email with the domain name propaypayments.us which is not the domain used by Propay. Even though the email used Propay's logo and similar looking instructions. Scammer indicated that for transaction to proceed, I would need to go to my closest Moneygram store (Walmart) and pay with cash in amount of $2,499 indicating the receiver of the cash to be a person by the name of Brandon Coyle of 10 Broadhollow Rd, Melville, NY 11747 and that I would need to fax a copy of my deposit at Moneygram (Walmart) to +1 (347) 287-6817 and would need to indicate the payment number etc. Unknowing persons who are not used to 419 scams may fall prey to this scammer and I hope that my posting of this problem will help someone else who does some research before shelling out money.
yes this is a scammer tried to scam me with a 2002 toyota tacoma that he wants to sell for 2550.00 with 59000 miles that is worth 6,500 somewhere else and the same informatin in melvin, ny and to wire him a moneygram through an agent in propay company using cragslist account

This same thing happened when I saw an ad for a 2005 Trail-Et Horse trailer. He wanted to sell it for $2438.00 and wanted to use ProPay. The email looked legit, but I did more research and found out it was a scam. He said that he was in the army and needed to sell the trailer and that's why the cost was so low. He wanted a moneygram through an agent with ProPay using craigslist. Scam!!
I was very lucky that I found this post before I became a "Sucker"and lost $2500 for a 2003 Toyota Corolla . "Buyer beware and if it sounds to good to be true. it is."
The post is very accurate on how these scammers work. Stay away from Craigslist when dealing with cash. Always do business face to face when paying cash and do your due dilagence.
